Why slats
Safety, savings and a single gesture.
The slats form a rigid surface and let you cover the pool with a single gesture. According to the manufacturer's catalogue, the systems we offer are manufactured in accordance with the NF P 90-308 safety cover standard and NF EN 17645 (energy class A–B, depending on the model and installation). Safety performance depends on the specific model, the installation and its applicable documentation: we confirm it in writing for your model before you sign. It is not a surface to walk on. Slatted covers also help to reduce evaporation and maintenance, without handling the cover by hand.
On-deck systems (resting on the edge of the pool) or submerged systems (the axle is hidden under the water, for a fully integrated finish).

Lets the light through, in blue, smoke or pearl. The same greenhouse effect as a bubble cover, with the rigidity of slats.
Characteristics
What the slats are made of.
- Slat width: 83 mm in PVC; in polycarbonate, 70 mm or 83 mm depending on the system.
- Thickness: the 83 mm PVC slat is 17 mm thick and hollow: its air chambers give it buoyancy and insulation.
- PVC: opaque: keeps the water warm, reduces evaporation and, being opaque, slows photosynthesis and algae.
- Polycarbonate: translucent: lets the light through and warms the water with the sun; reduces evaporation and retains heat.
- Heating with polycarbonate: for the 83 mm polycarbonate slats, the manufacturer calculates a rise in water temperature of between 6 and 8 °C, depending on the colour.
- Polycarbonate strength: for the 83 mm slats, according to the manufacturer, it withstands impact 8 times better than a PVC slat, hail included.
- Bromine-treated water: polycarbonate is not compatible with bromine treatments; with bromine, PVC slats are fitted.
- Polycarbonate care: the manufacturer warns that it scratches more easily than PVC, that because it is transparent it needs good water treatment and suitable filtration times to prevent algae under the slats, and that it is normal to see condensation droplets inside the slat.
- Colours: PVC in 4 or 5 colours and polycarbonate in 3 or 6, depending on the system.
- Anti-lift device: every slat curtain comes with an anti-lift device.
- Motor: electric, connected to the mains, or solar-powered with a panel, depending on the model.
